When they had safely dropped off the children at school, Nanny Dot
and Susie headed back home. They talked about how small the school
used to be and how nowadays children come from all over, not just the
village. They had a little moan about how many cars were trying to get
up and down School Lane to drop off children at the school gates. They
wondered whether Sanjay and the other Junior Road Safety Officer
could persuade parents to park their cars in the village hall car park
and walk up School Lane.
“That was a lovely walk down memory lane this morning.” said Nanny
Dot as they arrived home. “It makes me want to ride my bike again.”
“Mmm me too.” agreed Susie.
“Anyway, I must dash, I’m off to spend the weekend with my
daughter.” explained Nanny Dot. Susie thought about Kit’s idea and
what a good opportunity to put Kit’s idea into action!
