Susie said that the children could bring their pets to her house,
and that they could have their own show, but it wasn’t the same.
“How can you choose whose pet is the best when they’re all
different animals?” asked Kit, who always wanted things to be
right.
“Yes,” agreed Sanjay, “how can you judge my magnificent lizards
against Lydia’s baby rabbits? It’s not easy to train lizards you
know.”
“Or African snails,” added Kit.
“I know, that’s why I shall be looking at how well looked after
they are and asking you questions to help me decide,” Susie
explained.
