“Did you hear the smoke alarm?” asked Nathan?
“No, unfortunately the lawn mower was too noisy,”explained
Susie.
“Did the Fire Service come?” asked Daniel.
“Oh yes, it wasn’t safe to go back inside, so we went next
door to Nanny Dot and used her telephone to dial 999”.
“And they put the fire out?” asked Nathan.
“Yes, and they told Josie how pleased they were that she
had done the right thing when the smoke alarm went off,”
added Susie.
“Get out, stay out, dial 999!” chanted all 3 boys together.
“Well done,” said Susie with a nod and a smile.
