The next morning Kit and Lydia woke up very early.
They arrived at Susie’s house to find that everyone had
remembered their birthday after all.
There were presents and cards, but best of all a wonderful
chocolate birthday cake.
“Happy Birthday!” sang everyone as Susie carefully lit the
candles. Kit and Lydia both had a turn to blow out the
candles and make a wish. All the children cheered loudly!
Susie put the matches back on the high shelf.
“Chocolate cake for everyone,” shouted Murph.
Kit and Lydia smiled at each other and whispered,
“They remembered our birthday after all!”
