Susie put the food, safely inside the beach hut out of the hot sun.
Daniel and Nathan pushed two large sunshades into the soft sand, to
provide some shade on the beach. Murph and Lydia laid the towels
out in a neat line underneath them, and then collected the buckets and
spades from inside the beach hut.
“We’re off to collect seashells” announced Lydia, holding a bucket in
each hand.
“Hold on a minute, the sun is hot, you need suncream on!” insisted
Susie.
“Yes, remember what we learnt at school …
SLIP, SLOP, SLAP!” chanted Kit.
“That’s right, slip on a shirt, slop on the suncream and slap on a hat”
added Susie. “Kit’s absolutely right.”
Susie handed out the suncream to everyone, along with the Sun Safe
T shirts, painted yesterday. Murph helped Lydia put some suncream
on before they headed down to the shore line to hunt for seashells.
