Lydia was good at art and spent ages designing her T shirt with a
border of sea shells around a seahorse. Sanjay painted a lizard on
his. This was because he loved lizards, he had two as pets, but also
because lizards live in deserts, which are very hot and sunny.
Murph’s new puppy, Salem, decided to join in the painting so Murph’s
sunshine T shirt ended up with his paw prints all over it. Kit and
Nathan had more paint on them than on their T shirts, but with a little
help from Daniel, they managed a sand castle and a surfer with the
words I love surfing underneath. Daniel painted a diver swimming under
water with a shoal of fish.
“They look great,” said Susie. “While they dry we can pop in on Nanny
Dot to make sure she’s Ok and managing to keep cool in this hot
weather. If we take a watering can round one of you could water her
tomato plants, I’m sure they’d love a drink. We can collect the water
from Nanny Dot’s water butt.”
