From the safety of inside, the children stood at the window listening to the roar of
the thunder, waiting for the lightning show.
In Kit’s imagination Zeus was up in the clouds engaged in a great battle with
Poseidon. The battle was responsible for the raging storm down on earth.
Outside the sky grew blacker, the clouds crashed together as the rain and the wind
seemed to be getting stronger.
Meanwhile in Kit’s imagination… The battle of the gods continued.
“How dare you challenge me?- I am Zeus the God of Thunder.
There is no god stronger than me. All of you shall know the power of my anger!”
Meanwhile back on earth … Susie joined the children at the window.
“If this storm carries on we’ll need to dig out some torches in case we get a power
cut.”
“Will the lights go off ?” asked Lydia rather nervously.
“Probably not,” replied Susie in her reassuring voice.
“But if they do, we’ll be prepared, so there’s no need to be scared” added Sanjay.
